To those who claim that Americans shouldn't criticize the US because it may be demoralizing to troops:
- Are you claiming that we should just tell them what they need to hear to have the highest morale? Isn't treating them like that--treating them like ignorant children--demoralizing in and of itself?
- Are you claiming that our troops are fighting only for a piece of land and not for our freedom to say what we believe without fear?
- Are you claiming that the founding fathers of our great nation were misguided when they framed the constitution, and that, really, the government should tell its people what to think and do, rather than the people telling the governement what to think and do?
- Are you claiming that we should no longer the land of the free and the home of the brave, but rather the land of the silenced and the home of the cowardly?
Your claims have far-reaching ramifications. Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it.
